Our mission for our Downsizers Group is to simplify the complexities of downsizing and streamline the entire relocation process. In pursuit of this goal, we've cultivated a community of like-minded individuals including long-time homeowners.
This community will provide unwavering support to our members as they navigate the downsizing journey, and empower members throughout the downsizing process.
You will find a comprehensive list of what will be included in the membership set out below.
If you are interested in joining this group, please contact us to find out if you meet the requirements. We look forward to speaking with you.
If you would like to know more about this we can chat by phone, on a zoom call or best of all, get together for a coffee so I can give you the scoop!
Call me, Liz on my cell at (760) 455-9028.
Think of it as a support group for people who are anticipating a future move (for self or others). If you have lived in your home for a long time or are planning to downsize to a smaller space - or even move into senior living, you may need or like to have support and guidance on how to handle the physical tasks and/or the emotions associated with such a move.
Maybe children or other family members are supportive, but don't live locally and you simply need some "boots on the ground" here in your area.
Regardless of your circumstances, this tight knit community of caring and supportive people are here to help you accomplish your downsizing (or rightsizing) goals. Group size limited to approximately 10 members.

The one-time membership fee of $200 allows us to provide a high level of education and service, as well as invaluable resources and tools to Downsizers Group members. We believe members will find the value received as a club member will far exceed the amount you pay for membership. For example. a single consultation with one of our expert faculty could easily come close or exceed the one-time fee. At this time the membership includes six consultations free of charge.
So that you may try out our program you may attend one of the monthly events before you make a commitment to the group.
You will receive a credit for the amount of your membership when you utilize the real estate services of Downsizing California. The fee will be credited at close of escrow.
Individuals and couples that are seriously considering moving to another home more suited to their next chapter of life - or into a senior living community - within a timeframe of a few months to 1-3 years.
The reason we strongly encourage this is because we will be providing practical and hands on exercised to help members move through the process step by step - in real time. If you are not intending to move you will likely not get much benefit from the material or course content or be able to understand what other class members are experiencing.
We are always open to discussing this with you if you are considering membership. Please call Liz at (760) 455-9028 or schedule a meeting with me HERE.
These guides have proven invaluable to countless downsizers over the span of two decades. The recently updated Downsizing Made Easy Guide is perfect for those at the early stages of decision-making, while the Moving Mom & Dad Guide is great for adult children or those providing downsizing support to other family members.
We invite you to visit the Guides page on our site to read more.

Your dedicated Move Manager will help you determine the priorities for downsizing. This may include making preliminary decisions about the things you hold dear and want to keep, as well as items you would like to repurpose, sell or donate. A move manager can give you tips and tools for organizing your thoughts, as well as your treasures, and will ultimately be your best friend when it comes to simplifying and organizing the entire downsizing process.
We have arranged for Downsizers Group member to meet with professionals who may be of assistance with planning and education in their respective fields. These consultations are designed for review of current documentation and guidance concerning needed updates, revisions, or new materials. They may provide you with an estimated cost for their services for making such changes or additions, but you are under no obligation to use them.
This meeting will be invaluable to those who intend to sell, lease or transfer property as part of their downsizing process. Your CSHP will provide you with an estimated home value based on current market conditions, as well as a detailed calculation of sale-related expenses you would likely incur. If you are considering making improvements, your CSHP can assist you in determining the return on investment of those improvements. The goal of your CSHP is to help you make educated and informed decisions as you plan for a future sale or transfer of property.
If you do decide, when the time comes, to make improvements before your property is listed for sale, Downsizing California can manage the work for you and arrange for you to pay for the work done from the sale proceeds - so you don't have to pay for anything out of pocket.
Your CSHP will also make you aware of any of our programs which may be helpful to you including our "Sell Now. Move Later: program which allows you to sell your home and rent it back for up to a year, giving you plenty of time to deal with the "stuff" and finding the right place to live - without a time crunch. The decision of where to move to is too important to feel pressured.
Our Seminar Series is offered monthly (starting again soon) and is free to the public. As a Downsizers Group Member you may receive priority seating based on your preference, a personalized name tag and a binder to organize your seminar materials. Should seminars be held only on-line for any reason we will make arrangements to ensure you have access to the online events by providing the necessary technology support.
Our goal is to be available to you as often as you need us. Not only will you have the support of our team of professionals, there are other Group members whom you will likely find to be supportive and helpful as well.
If you prefer to pose your question through your Group Leader, please do so and by doing it that way we can be sure you are getting the answers you need from the correct professional.
We love it when our clients and club members recommend us to others. As you think of people who could benefit from being a member, please get permission from them for us to call them and send us their contact information. We are happy to reach out and introduce ourselves and see if membership is of interest to them.
